Terms and conditions
In brief
- Your booking is fixed once you have our written confirmation and we have received the 30% deposit.
- Up to 3 days before your session you can move or cancel at no cost; after that we keep the deposit.
- Mixing includes 2 revision rounds per song, and we keep your files for 6 months after delivery.
- Once your invoice is paid in full, the rights in the recordings, mixes and masters we make belong to you.
01Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms apply to every quote, booking and assignment of Comptelogicza B.V., trading as Comptelogicza, located at Czaar Peterstraat 148, 1018 PR Amsterdam, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 85932008, VAT number NL840200407B01. You can reach us on 020 754 3816 or at [email protected]; full company details are in the legal notice.
They cover Music recording, Voice-over and speech, Mixing and Mastering as described on our services page. Any different arrangement applies only once we have confirmed it by email or in writing, and that confirmation then takes precedence over these terms. We expressly reject the general terms of business clients.
02Definitions
- Client
- The consumer or business that books a session or gives us an assignment.
- Consumer
- An individual acting outside their trade, business or profession.
- Session
- A reserved time slot in the live room, control room or booth, with an engineer.
- Assignment
- Work we carry out without you present, such as mixing or mastering tracks you send in.
- Files
- All audio files, project files and stems we record, receive or deliver.
03Quotes, booking and confirmation
You can request a session or assignment through the contact page, by email or by phone. A request does not commit you to anything. We reply within 2 working days with a proposal or quote, which stays valid for 14 days unless it states otherwise.
The contract is formed when you accept the quote or proposal by email and we confirm the booking in writing. Your date is held for certain once the deposit under article 5 has arrived. The minimum session length is 2 hours.
04Prices and VAT
Our rates are listed on the service pages. Prices for consumers include 21% VAT; business clients are invoiced the net price with VAT shown separately.
| Service | Unit | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Music recording | per hour, engineer included | €85 |
| Music recording | per 8-hour day | €595 |
| Voice-over and speech | per hour in the booth | €75 |
| Voice-over and speech | ad up to 60 seconds, editing included | €195 |
| Mixing | per song, up to 48 tracks | €240 |
| Mixing | stems export surcharge | €60 |
| Mastering | per song | €65 |
| Mastering | EP of up to 4 songs | €220 |
| Mastering | album of up to 12 songs | €480 |
If a session runs over the booked time, we charge each started half hour at the hourly rate, and only if you agreed to the extension during the session. Work outside the quote starts only after you approve a price estimate.
05Deposit and payment
With your booking confirmation you receive an invoice for a deposit of 30% of the quoted amount. Consumers pay the balance by the end of the session, or before the files are delivered for an assignment. Business clients pay within 14 days of the invoice date.
If payment is late, we first send a free reminder. Consumers then have 14 days to pay before collection costs under the statutory scale are charged. For business clients, statutory commercial interest and statutory collection costs apply from the due date. While an invoice is unpaid, we may hold back delivery of the final files.
06Rescheduling and cancellation
- Up to 3 days before the session you can reschedule or cancel free of charge. If you cancel, we refund the deposit within 14 days.
- If you cancel later, or do not show up, we keep the deposit to cover the reserved time. We never charge more than the deposit.
- If you want to reschedule within that period, we will try to find a new date. If we do, the deposit is carried over once to the new session.
- If you arrive late, the end time does not move automatically; the booked time remains payable.
If we have to cancel a session, for example because the engineer is ill or studio equipment fails, we offer a new date or refund everything you have paid within 14 days. The choice is yours.
07Consumer right of withdrawal
If you book as a consumer at a distance, meaning via the website, email or phone, Article 6:230o of the Dutch Civil Code gives you 14 days from the day the contract is formed to change your mind. Within that period you can withdraw without giving a reason by telling us clearly at [email protected]. You may use the model withdrawal form, but you do not have to. We refund everything you paid within 14 days, using the same payment method.
If your session falls within the withdrawal period, or you want us to start an assignment sooner, we ask you to request that explicitly. If you then withdraw, you pay a proportionate amount for the work already done. Once the service has been fully performed with your express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose the right of withdrawal, that right ends. Business clients have no right of withdrawal; only article 6 applies to them.
08Using the studio
- The 42 m² live room takes ensembles of up to 6 players at once. The booth measures 6 m² and is set up for a single voice.
- The minimum age for a session is 16. Younger musicians are welcome with a parent or guardian who also signs the booking.
- Please handle microphones, instruments and furniture with care. We may charge you for damage caused deliberately or through carelessness.
- Smoking, drugs and excessive drinking are not allowed in the studio. If behaviour becomes unsafe, the engineer may end the session and the booked time stays payable.
- Your own instruments and gear remain at your own risk, so insure them yourself if needed.
For ways to get the most out of your time, read our guide on preparing a recording session.
09Mixing and mastering
For Mixing and Mastering, send your tracks as described in our guide on delivering tracks for mixing. If files are missing or damaged, we let you know, and the delivery time starts once everything is complete.
The mixing price includes 2 revision rounds per song. One revision round is a single, combined list of notes on the latest version. Extra rounds, or a change to the original brief, are agreed with you in advance at a fixed price. Masters are delivered per format and matched to each platform; background is in master formats and loudness. How a platform ultimately plays back your song is outside our control.
10Files, delivery and archive
We deliver files digitally through a download link. After full payment the link stays active for at least 14 days. Check the files on arrival and make your own backup straight away.
We keep the project files from your session or assignment for 6 months after delivery. During that time you can ask for a new download link free of charge. After that, the files are deleted. If you want them deleted sooner, let us know at [email protected].
11Rights in music, lyrics and recordings
Copyright in your compositions, lyrics and scripts stays with you or with the authors you represent. You confirm that you are entitled to have the material you bring or send recorded or processed.
To the extent that Comptelogicza B.V. or our engineers acquire any rights in the recordings, mixes or masters we make for you, we transfer those rights to you once the invoice is paid in full. On request we record this in a separate signed deed. Until full payment you may not publish or distribute the files.
We do not use your recordings as examples or on social media without your written permission. Crediting the studio or engineer is welcome but not required.
12Liability
We work carefully and make an interim backup during every session. Even so, things can go wrong. Our liability for damage resulting from a failure on our part is limited to the amount invoiced for the session or assignment concerned.
We are not liable for indirect loss such as lost income or a delayed release, except towards consumers where the law does not allow such an exclusion. These limits do not apply to intent or deliberate recklessness on the part of us or our management, or to death or personal injury.
13Force majeure
If either of us cannot keep an appointment because of circumstances beyond anyone's control, such as a local power cut, fire, a government measure or serious illness, we look for a new date together. If that is not possible within a reasonable time, either of us may terminate the contract. Anything already paid for work not yet carried out is refunded.
14Personal data
To carry out your booking we process your name, contact and billing details and the content of your recordings. How we do this, how long we keep data and what rights you have is explained in the privacy policy. If your recordings or files contain other people's personal data and you are a business client, the data processing agreement also applies.
15Complaints
If you are not satisfied with a session, a mix or a master, tell us within a reasonable time after noticing the problem, at [email protected], with a short description. We confirm receipt and give a full reply within 2 working days. Often an extra correction or redoing part of the session solves it. If we cannot reach agreement, you can go to court under article 17.
16Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. An existing booking stays under the version that applied when you booked, unless a change only benefits you. This version applies from 5 October 2026.
17Governing law and disputes
All contracts with Comptelogicza B.V. are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of that country's mandatory rules.
Disputes with business clients are brought before the competent court of the District Court of Amsterdam (rechtbank Amsterdam). Consumers may turn to the court that has jurisdiction under the law. The Dutch text of these terms is binding; this English translation is provided for information.
